Travel permit for minors

The processing of travel authorizations is carried out exclusively by appointment.

ENTRY AND EXIT OF ARGENTINA

 

DO NOT need written permission or travel authorization:

1) Argentine minors under 18 traveling with both parents. At the time of leaving Argentine territory, they must present the following documents to prove the relationship:

• Minor's passport.

• Birth certificate or marriage certificate (original) where the birth is registered, to prove filiation. If one of the parents has died, this circumstance must be proven with the respective death certificate. If the document is foreign, it must be legalized or apostilled.

2) Argentine minors under 18 with a domicile abroad.

3) Foreign minors under 18 who are temporarily in Argentina (for example, as tourists).

 

DO need written permission or travel authorization:

1) Minors under 14 years of any nationality and category of entry, who do not travel accompanied or are not expected by those who exercise parental responsibility.

2) Argentine minors under 18 who do not travel accompanied by those who exercise parental responsibility (examples: traveling alone or accompanied by only one of their parents).

3) Foreign minors under 18 residing in Argentina (with a foreign ID), when they travel alone or accompanied by third parties who are not their parents.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

1) Minors under 14 years:

a) if the minor travels alone, the authorization must contain:

- place or places of destination (countries).

- data of the person who will receive him/her (name, surname, type and number of document and address).

b) if the minor travels accompanied by a third party, the authorization must contain:

- personal data of the companion (name, surname, type and number of document and address).

- place or places of destination (countries).

 

2) Minors between 14 and 18 years old:

a) if the minor travels alone, the authorization must contain:

place or places of destination (countries). For example: Canada, United States, etc.

b) if the minor travels accompanied by a third party, the authorization must contain:

- personal data of the companion.

- place or places of destination (countries). For example: Canada, United States, etc.

 

Authorizations granted by parents for the minor to leave with one of them do not require any other requirements.

In all cases, the filiation of both parents or those who exercise parental responsibility over the minor must be proven through: Marriage Certificate with the birth recorded, or Birth Certificate, or Judicial Testimony of adoption or another public instrument that gives full faith of the invoked bond.

If one of the parents has died, this circumstance must be proven with the respective death certificate.

In cases where custody has been exclusively awarded to one of the parents by court order, the court order accrediting this must be presented.
