This certificate is issued by the National Registry of Recidivism of Argentina at the request of the interested person, to fulfill local procedures (for example, to be presented to the Canadian immigration authority or a foreign consulate).
To request your Criminal Record Certificate, please follow these steps:
A) Go to the following link https://www.dnrec.jus.gov.ar/InicioTramite/default.aspx and complete all the requested fields.
Please read the following information carefully, as it will help you complete the forms correctly:"
- To start the process, you must select the country: Canada.
- In the DOCUMENT field, enter the valid Identification Document or Passport with which you will present yourself at the Consulate to conclude the process.
- In the NAMES AND SURNAMES fields, enter only one name/surname per field.
- In the ADDRESS field, enter your current address. In the postal code field, you can write: "1111".
- For those individuals applying for permanent residency in Canada, it is recommended to visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. On this site, it is indicated that they must request this criminal record certificate specifically mentioning "with the exception of article 51 of the Criminal Code." Those individuals who include this mention can do so in the criminal record request form in the field "TO BE PRESENTED TO....".
Once the form is complete in all fields, you must print the Criminal Record Request. It is important to click on the FINISH button to generate the request.
B) Make the payment through the BAPRO online platform (the option will appear after the Request is generated) for the corresponding fee to start the process. Payment can be made with VISA, MasterCard, or American Express International credit cards, from anywhere in the world and with any cardholder. You must print the payment receipt that you will receive in the email indicated in the request.
C) Request an appointment via email to consular_ctoro@mrecic.gov.ar, attaching scanned copies of the following documentation:
1. Identification document submitted in the Request (valid ID card or passport in original).
2. Completed and printed Criminal Record Request form (unsigned).
3. Printed online payment receipt.
You will be assigned an appointment, and you will be instructed to appear at the Consulate with the original documentation. On the day of the appointment, you will need to pay the consular fee.
The procedure is personal and in-person. On the day of your appointment, your fingerprints will be taken, and you will be given a processing receipt. The Criminal Record Certificate will be available within 24 hours, and you can download and print it from the National Registry of Recidivism website.
