UPDATE ON ENTRY TO THE ARGENTINE REPUBLIC - REQUIREMENTS-

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The national government launched new measures from 00 hours on December 25 2020 and March 27 2021. Careful reading of all the information that is included below is recommended

The application of the Tourism Pilot Program in the AMBA, which entered into force through Administrative Decision No. 1949/2020 (Entry of nationals and residents of neighboring countries), is suspended.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE DECISION 2252/2020

I. - Who can enter Argentina?

Group 1:  Argentine citizens and Argentine residents

Group 2:  Direct family members of Argentine-citizens and of Argentine residents that do not need a visa to enter Argentina. 

Group 3: Foreigners that are specifically authorized by the Migration Authorities in Argentina, ‘Dirección Nacional de Migraciones’,  to carry out work or business activities, an official diplomatic mission, to participate in sporting activities, or to reunite with an Argentine citizen or resident family member.

II. - General Observations

  • It is the responsibility of each Argentine citizen to keep their documents up to date and valid.
  • It is the responsibility of each passenger to submit all the documents required by the airline and the immigration authorities in Argentina. Should one of the documents be missing, the airline will not allow boarding.
  • This Consular office does not provide information on or recommend: laboratories in which to get the COVID-19 test, medical and/or travel insurance, etc.
  • This Consular office cannot solve technical issues regarding the online Affidavit required by the Migration Authorities in Argentina, or the CUIDAR App.
  • Certificates (birth, marriage, common-law) must be submitted in original.

III. – Required Documents

Group 1:  Argentine citizens and Argentine residents

  • Online Affidavit available on the 'Dirección Nacional de Migraciones' website, 48 hours before travelling: https://www.argentina.gob.ar/interior/migraciones
  • COVID 19 test showing a negative result, 72 hours before international travel. (PLEASE SEE BELOW MORE INFORMATION REGARDING THIS REQUISITE)
  • Installment of the CUIDAR App, within 48 hours upon arrival in Argentina.
  • Flights require that Argentine citizens have a valid Argentine passport.
  • Argentine residents must show a valid DNI for foreigners upon boarding their flight.
  • Quarantine: All travelers must comply with a 10-day quarantine from the day of the negative PCR test.

Group 2:  Direct family members of Argentine-citizens and of Argentine residents that do not need a visa to enter Argentina as a tourist (*).

  • Original birth, marriage, or common-law certificate issued by a government authority and legalized by this office to demonstrate the relationship to the Argentine citizen. (*) Unmarried or Non-registered Couples: Sworn Affidavit before a notary public and two witnesses acting as a record of the couple’s relationship. When one of the members of the couple is in Argentina and the other abroad, each one must prepare a Sworn Affidavit separately, and both must be shown to the airline. The Affidavits done in Argentina must be legalized by the ‘Colegio de Escribanos’ (College of Notaries Public). The Affidavits done abroad must either be Apostilled or legalized by the Consulate General of Argentina.
  • Copy of the Argentine DNI of the person you will visit in Argentina.
  • Flight reservation showing arrival and departure
  • Letter of request briefly explaining the need to travel, departure and arrival dates, place of stay in Argentina and all relevant information.
  • Online Affidavit available on the 'Dirección Nacional de Migraciones' website, 48 hours before travelling: https://www.argentina.gob.ar/interior/migraciones
  • COVID 19 test showing a negative result, 72 hours before international travel.
  • Medical insurance including coverage in case of hospitalization and isolation in Argentina due to Covid-19.
  • Installment of the CUIDAR App, 48 hours upon arrival in Argentina.
  • Quarantine: All travelers must comply with a 10-day quarantine from the day of the negative PCR test.
  • A fee of ARS 9.000 (nine thousand Argentine pesos) will be paid per foreigner upon arrival in Argentina (in accordance with Article 1, Item m of Decree 865/2019)

A). - Online Migration Affidavit

  • To complete the Affidavit, please go to the following link: https://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/
  • Argentine citizens: complete the information “issuing date of DNI/Passport” with the date shown in the last document you have (be it DNI or passport).
  • This Consulate will not deal with technical issues.

 

B). - COVID 19 test (Mandatory) and QUARANTINE

 

  • The test must be done prior to travelling. It cannot be done upon arrival in Argentina.
  • Contacting your health insurance is recommended regarding testing coverage.
  • COVID-19 test showing a negative result must be done 72 hours before international travel. The 72 hs must be considered from the moment that the test has been done, not from the moment the result is issued.
  • Minors under 6 years old are excepted, but they have to self-isolate unless they enter Argentina with adults showing the negative Covid-19 test mentioned above.
  • Exceptions- see the following link: (Appendix I of the Resolution , Item 2)
  • When the flight suffers delays, the extention of the validity of the test result for 24 hs is admisible, previous consultation with the airline.

Quarantine: All travelers must comply with a 10-day quarantine from the negative PCR test. Only the following will be exempted from the quarantine: international carriers and crew members, diplomats and officials on official mission, athletes in the event of duly authorized sporting events, non-resident foreigners expressly authorized by the National Directorate.

  • If the certificates (birth, marriage, or common-law) that show the family link are NOT Argentinean, they must be duly legalized (or have the Apostille stamp if the certificates are not Canadian)

D) Travel Insurance

It is recommended that you contact your health/travel insurance to request a letter that details your coverage for the trip to Argentina, including hospitalization and isolation for Covid-19, and showing that there will be no exceptions or restrictions during your stay.

E) Argentine passport

F) CUIDAR App

  • This app must be downloaded 48 hours upon arrival in Argentina.
  • This Consulate is not authorized to deal with technical issues in relation to the app.
  • The app is not a pre-requisite to board an international flight.
